Notes on air quality

Check out this link for Greenpeace Asia's analysis of the air quality of large cities on China's Eastern Seaboard. The full report is here.

Interesting thing about Hangzhou: the capital of Zhejiang province ranked #3 in Eastern China for PM-10 pollution at 490% of WHO guidelines. And we thought Houston's springtime pollen was bad! No wonder Allegra and Benadryl have been especially useful during my stay here in the lovely Hangzhou.

If you're thinking about traveling to Eastern China yourself, make note of the fact that pollution can be worse than it seems. Limit time outside on hazy days- no jogging if you can't see what's one block away!

Thanks to Shanghaiist.com for the tip!
